NEW ZEALAND BOWLERS
WELCOME AT MELBOURNE. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright (Received April 6, 4.32 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 6. The New Zealand team of bowlers arrived by the Maheno from Bluff. D. Thomas (Ashburton) is ill and has been sent to t}ie hospital.' The visitors were welcomed by the Victoria Bowling Association. The president, Mr Wood, stated that he would like to see an Australasian championship arranged, to be played r.t Melbourne, Sydney, and in Now Zealand. He intended taking a team to New Zealand in 1809. The New Zealanders were practising to-day.
