The Fcdoral-Houlder-Shiro liner Surrey is to. leave Wellington at midday to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. The Westport Coal Company’s collier Regains, now completing an overhaul at Wellington, is expected to get away for Westport at midday to-morrow. The strong southerly wind yesterday prevented the Tutanekai from going on tho patent slip. She is expected to go on the cradle this morning. The ctcamer Haupiri, from Auckland, i via East Coast bays and ports, is due at Wellington next Friday or Saturday, one is to i.ati on oaturuay from J.ytu - ton. and will return thence to Napier and East Coast bays. The harbourmaster at Westport reacts that during March ninety-three steamers (representing 49,953 tons re-’ gisier) entered port, i and nincty-iiyo steamers (representing 50,273 tons register) left port. Tho average tide means were—bar, 23ft; river, 24ft.

The local office- of the Now Zealand Shipping. Company was advised by cable last evening that the Tongariro (outWard bound from London) left Hobart at 6 p.m. on Saturday, for Wellington direct.
