YACHTING.
On Saturday afternoon the Port Nicholson Yacht Club held a race between first-class yachts for th-S Mills Memorial Cup. Three boats —Waitangi, Syren and Ngaira—started. There was a steady southerly breeze and a calm sea. Waitangi was the first to cross the winning line, her time being Ihr 47min 45sec. The Syren came in second, in 2hr osec, and the Ngaira third in 2hr 12min 55sec. As the Waitangi has now won the cup twice in succession, her owners own tho trophy.
