CRICKET.
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Cricket Association was held last evening, Mr C. A. Richardson presiding, Tho Hawke's Bay Association wrote, asking whether Wellington could send a team to play at Napier during tho time tho carnival is in progress there in March.—The chairman remarked that it was a matter for consideration whether they should not send a team to Auckland at the same time. It would bo no use sending a team unless they could send tho best.—The secretary stated that previous to the representative matches tho association's overdraft was £GL Tho takings from the matches amounted to £285 17s 6d. against which thore were expenses amounting to about £95 for tho two matches. After squaring up everything, there would bo a balance to credit of from £IOO to .£l3O. —Mr S. Jacobs suggested that the Auckland Association might be willing to pay a portion of tho expenses if the team went North, but this proposal did not moot with favour.—Th© cost of sending the team to Auckland via Napier would bo from £BO to £loo.—On the motion of Mr Salmon, it was decided to ask tho Selection Committee if they could obtain a first-class team to go to Auckland and Hawke's Bay this season, and to report to the next meeting. It wo s decided to writ© to the New Zealand Cricket Council for particulars of tho conditions attached to the Plunkot Shield. t , ~ Mr S. Jacobs moved, seconded by Mr Bate, that it b© an instruction to the Championship Committee that, in tho event of a tie in the senior championship for tho first four places, the team which hae won the most matches In the first round be given preference. Mr Brice moved, a© an amendment, seconded by Mr Vance, that in case of a tie for fourth place the teams that have tied play a qualifying round.—The amendment waa carried. WEDNESDAY ASSOCIATION.
