As the latter steamer was double-banking the Waitangi, the unique sight of three vessels triplebanked was presented. Although there is a continually increasing volume of shipping at the port of Onehunga, there is no more • accommodation, ■ and •no facilities other than were in evidence a. couple of decades back.

The well-known barquentine Kale Tntham, which has been trading between Napier and Newcastle for some years, and which recently capsized at the latter port, has changed owners. As was anticipated (says the “Newcastle News” of November 9th), the underwriters did not accept any of the tenders for raising the Kate Tatha-m, The vessel, as she now lies, was sold privately by tho owners, Messrs Tait and Mills, of Napier, to Messrs P. Calleu and Sops. The amount of the purchase money has not been made known.
