Tho off-day of tho Victoria Racing Club’s meeting did not differ from th© others in point of attendance, inasmuch as the largest crowd yet assembled <m an Oaks day wae present. Th© sun was a bit on tho warm side, but its heat was tempered by a light southerly breeze. Although there were no Vico-Regal parties present, society ladies congregated in force, and made a great display of dressing, making a most brilliant crowd. At the sheds the favourite ran into second , place, and indulged lolaire with the lead ■to the turn, where Master Fopte ' and True Scot were running together in the roar of Mountain King. On turning into, the home stretch Mountain King chopped down the leader and won as he liked, a length between lolaire and True Scot. The weather was fine for training operations at Bllerslio this morning. The outside, course proper, sand and tan were air oped, and very fast. Cndenbo ran six'furlongs in Imin 23sec. Carl Rosa easily held Waipuna at the end of sevon furlongs, done in Imin 34 ( 2-sseo. Necktie went six furlongs in Imin 18 1-Sseo —a good gallop. The filly has more than ah outside chance in the Guineas. Downfall made hacks of. Dan Leno and' Haldane over a mile, run in Imin 48 1-Sseo. Lady Dot assisting over the first three furlongs. The Guineas candidate did very well. All the above worked the course proper, Cambrian and Pohute, neither ridden out, covered six furlongs on the tan in Imin 20 3-ssec. Chanteuao and Veronica were together at the end of four furlongs on the course proper, their time being 51 l-ssec. Loftes went alone for five furlongs on the sand; his time being Imin 4sec. Port Light occasioned a lot of surprise by covering seven furlongs of the course proper in Imin 33seo, badly beating Lady Regol. Tunewha’s gallop was the best of the season. XJhlandor beat Lucreee dyer six furlongs on the tan in Imifi 21 2-sseo. Wadmnngu went easier than Santa Bosa over a half-mile of the course in 53seo. Roosevelt did five furlongs on the course in Imin Bsec. Baltimore did a mile on the course in Imin 52 3-ssec, and Epsom six furlongs on the -grass in Imin 22 3-ssoc. Bauparaha easily held Euros and Lochbuie at the end of six furlongs on the course in Imin 20sec. Taimanupo went four furlongs on the course in 50 1-Ssec. General Soult, Sedition and Glenvar were in that order at the end of the same journey, done in 51 3-sseo. A large number of others worked.
