A CHILDREN'S BALL.

Miss Estelle Beere’s breaking-up ball took place on Saturday evening, m the concert chamber at the Town Hall. Soma two hundred, parents and friends were present. Amongst the audience wer« Lady Ward, Mrs Hislop, Sir William and Lady Stewart, Mr and Mrs Field, Miss Ackerman, Mr and Mrs Shirtclifi’e, Dr and Mrs Perry, Mr and Mrs A. B, Donne, Mrs Stott, Mrs Leslie Reynolds, Mrs Van Staveren, and Mr and Mrs Ellis, Professor and Mrs Kirk. The pupils varied from mites of four years upwards to elder Wellington College boarders. Excellent music was provider by the Vitetta Bros. A novelty on the programme was the Veleta, the new society dance, and very graceful it wan. During the evening a display of graceful new dances ’was given on the stage by a few of the pupils. A clever little Mite, Mies Peggie Reeves, led off with an inepliiting dance, followed by a charming Spanish fan-dance by Baba Field and Weanie Nathan. Harris, Frances Gaequoiue and Eileen Dimock A clever eblo, La Fairy Rose, was given by Doris Greville, and a graceful child. Miss Maisie Geary, danced a pas de seul. The ballet, "vivondiere,” was danced by Lorna Donne, Kathleen Muir, Maisie Reeves, Marjorie Stuart, Naida Schlose and Kathleen Speod. A sailor’c Kornpixje was cleverly stepped by Winnie Fenton; the caohucha-tang by Gwennie and Huia Shepherd.
