EXPERTS AT VARIANCE

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY, September 27. The Government Meteorologist says it is premature to predict a drought yet. The Victorian Meteorologist states that a drought is very probable.

It was stated a few days ago that stockowners in some New South Wales districts were arranging for fresh pasturage for stock owing to the prolonged dry weather threatening a shortage of feed. A day or two ago, however, welcome rains were reported. In Victoria considerable apprehension exists regarding crops, as the season has been very dry. Some wheat areas only show a growth of a few inches. DROUGHT IN QUEENSLAND. POSITION SERIOUS.
