SPLICING BROKEN REINS
This illustration shows how to join the ends of reins together when broken or the buckle has been lost. With a poc-
ket-knife cut the end of each rein, as shown at A; then, by slipping the extreme end of each through the tackshaped opening of the other a reasonably firm union is effected. The method of splicing, os will be seen, can also be adapted to other similar nses.
