WELLINGTON KENNEL CLUB. THE JUDGE'S AWARDS. The annual show of the Wellington Kennel Club was continued yeeterday. The attendance was satisfactorily, large both in the afternoon and evening. Judging was resumed early in the morning, and it was late in the afternoon before Mr C. Court Rice completed the onerous task. Of the dogs judged yesterday Mr Rice considers Irish terriers have much improved since his visit twelve months ago, while Skyes also showed capital quality. Fox terriers are not so good as they might have been, the quality being low, but they are a very level lot. Tlie bulldog open classes and bitches-came in for high commendacion, us also did cocker spaniels, which Mr Rice considers well up to the usual high standard of New Zealand. He notices a vast improvement in wire-hair fox terriers, but tho prevailing fault is that they have a little too much size. The brace and team classes are wonderful, and a long way ahead of anything seen in Australia; in fact, there is nothing like them in the Commonwealth. The show will be open ail day to-day, closing at 10 p.m. Following are* the awards made yesterday:— BULLDOGS.
