FIRE
PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, September 12. An outbreak of fire occurred this morning on premises in Newton road occupied by -Messrs Gilmore, Joll, and Williams, coach-builders, and Messrs Smith and Herbert, livery stable keepers. The city brigade were quickly on the scene, but the flames had obtained a good hold, and considerable damage, estimated at about £340, was done before the brigade succeeded in extinguishing the outbreak. The fire is supposed to have originated in a loft, rats being credited with having caused ignition. The building was insured for £6OO, and Messrs Gilmour and Jell had £SO insurance on a number of buggies which were in thenworkshop.
