LADIES' REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. PRESS ASSOCIATION, NAPIER, September 4. The ladies' representative hockeymatch, Auckland v. Hawke's Bay, was played on th© Recreation Ground this afternoon, in tho presence of a good attendance of spectators. Slight rain fell onco’ or twice during tho afternoon, but there were no really heavy showers until the match was finished. Miss C. Niven, captain of the Hawke's Bay team, was suffering from influenza,’ but pluckily kept her place. Th© game was a very fast one throughout, and the play, was of an interesting character. The teams were very evenly matched, though the Hawke's Bay forward line played with rather more combination than tho visitors. The first spell ended without score. About half-way through the second spoil a passing rush by the Hawke's Bay forwards enabled Miss Einnls to score tho only goal of the match. For the visitors. Miss C. Mavis-Clark (captain) played the best game on the field. Misses 0. Mavis-Clark, E. Alison, H. Bagley, Dobbi© and Wynyard also played, well. For Hawke's Bay, Misses G. Morrison, M. Morrison, Hollis, M. Niven and Danvers played particularly well. Prior to th© representative match a match was played between the Te Kooti Ladies’ Hockey Club (Hastings) against a Wanganui ladies' team, Te Kooti winning by two goals to nil. The gam© was only a fair exposition of hockey.
