Mr George Musgrove’s German Grand Opera Company commenced its Zealand tour at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland, last Monday evening, witl a performance of "Lohengrin." On Tuesday ''Carmen" was staged. This afternoon a matinee performance of "Hinsea and Gretel" will be given, whilst for the evening'® performance "Tannkaufier" will be staged. s On Thursday night "Romeo and Juliet" will be staged, on Friday "The Flying Dutchman." and on Saturday "Faust." The following week "Romeo and Juliet," "Lohengrin," "Carmen," "Tannhauser," and /‘Faust' will be revived for one night each, and xiansel and Gretel" will bo staged in a seo* ond matinee, while "TJi© Barber of So. villc" will be played on the Tuesday evening. The trad© unions of Great Britain and Ireland, according to the latest official return issued recently, have an accumulated reserve of almost five and a half millions sterling. Those figures com© down only to December, 1905; they exceed any previous year's total.
