BOXING
Patrons of the ring are finally reminded of the tourney to be hold at His Majesty's Theatre to-night under tho auspices of the Wellington Boxing Association. Tho preliminary heats of the amateur feather-weight contest will start at 8 o'clock, when Gould meets Sanderson, and Tresize will try conclusions with Crawford. Before the final bout the fifteen-round in which J. Godfrey and. J. Gosling are the contestants, will come up .for decision. Interest in the meeting is shown by tho booking, and there is sure to be a crowded house. His Excellency Lord Plunket will be present, and the Eight Hon. tho Premier, who is patron of the association, will be in attendance, if his Parliamentary duties do not engross his time.
R. Turner; who is to meet T. Tracy (present holder) for the light-weight professional championship of New Zealand on Wednesday next, will arrive . from Sydney by the Moeraki this morning. Turner will be accorded a reception by the executive of the Boxing Association on Thursday afternoon, at which tho visiting competitors now in town will be present.
