FEAR OF MURDER
RETURNING KANAKAS. Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright -BRISBANE, July 23. A number of kanakas waited on the authorities and the Governor (Lord Chelitisford), a.nd expressed; a fear of being murdered if they wore deported to Maladta. His Excellency expressed his sympathy with them. Two or three weeks ago it was Reported that sanguinary encounters had taken place at Malaita between resident natives and returned Kanakas, .several of the latter being killed. •!■■■.
