Tho trial took place yesterday of an Italian named Redons, charged with tho theft of art treasures to ilio value of £60,000, on February 12th, from the residence of the famous art collector, Mr Charles Wertheimer, at Norfolk street, Park lane, and of Santo Orescento, a dealer in antiques, charged with receiving stolen goods. Tho man was found in possession of four curious gold snuff-boxes, which formed part of tho collodion of Louis cento, a dealer in antiques, charged character stolon from the premises of ‘ Mr Wertheimer Rodous was found guilty and sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment, and Crescento to iivo years.
