POLICE CASES.
i A middle-aged woman named Lizzie Briggs appeared before Dr McArthur yesterday morning on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person. Sho was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. James Hoy, charged • with being found by night without lawful excuse on property in Featherston street belonging to the Municipal Council, was convicted and discharged. James Good/ who had been found asleep in" a cab on Mrs Ritson’s premises in Cambridge torrace, was similarly dealt with. Several inebriates wore punished. A young man named 'William Hopkins pleaded guilty to several’ charges of having misappropriated moneys belonging to his employer, Mb H. Parker, and, on the application of the police, was remanded for sentence.
