KARORI TRAMWAY
POLL ON NEW LOAN PROPOSALS. Although on the surface a great deal of interest was shown in the proposal to raise loans for the completion and extension of the Karori tramway, this Vital issue) failed to bring more than about a third of the ratepayers to the poll yesterday. Tho result of tho poll was that the loan of £17,000 for tho completion of the lino over the present route to tho cemetery gate was ■approved; but tho ratepayers declined to sanction a loan of £32,000 for extensions. Two extensions wore proposed '—one from tho cemetery gate through Karori to tho foot of tho Makara Hill, and one from tho Northland road jiawtion near tho Kelbnrne viaduct to Northland. The two extension proposals were joined as one issue on tho voting paper. The voting for tho £17,000 loan for completion of road-widening and tramway to the oemetejry gates was as fob lows: —
