"The Cingalee,” tho second production of the Tfovnl Comic Opera season, has created ' a 'record both in England and Australia for magnificence of mounting and scenic effect. It pictures a lazy dream of glory, set amid harmonies of sound and colour. No one is sad in sweet Ceylon—they were never meant to bo—and j't would be rrazzlcsome indeed to find any one who has seen 'The Cingalee’'' and has tailed to be carried away by its infections merriment or fascinated by its charming lyrics. A villago of the bronze age _ that had apparently been burned, "was discovered recently ’ near Domodossola, Italy. Lances, bracelets and beautiful vases were found among the ruins. The chorus and orchestra of Mr Williamson's Opera Company will bo under the baton of Mr Andrew McCnnn, a talented brother of the well-known Scots composer, Mr Hamish McCnnn. Mr Henry Bracy has been selected as Mr Williamson’s personal representative to | supervise all productions.
