AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
At its last annual meeting, the Wei- . Uugton centre of the Kiev*. Zealand Amateur Athletic Association resolved unanimously that an amendment of the registration rules was necessary. All similar centres are now being circularised by tho Wellington body to secure their co-operation in supporting tho motion when it comes before the New Zealand Council on the 30th inst. Tho motion reads; —“That clauses A and B of Rule 6 ho deleted, and following substituted: (a) Any member desirous of competing in events held under the rules of the association must obtain a license from tho centre secretary, such license to hold good so long as tho competitor conforms to ■ the rules of thbassociation, and shall on no account bo minsferable. No unlicensed member may compete except by special permission of the council, (hi The registration fee shall be 2s Gd, and the licenses shall be issued by the centre secretaries on forms supplied by the association secretary-treasurer, such fee to be collected by the treasurer of the club to which the member belongs and paid by snob club direct to the secretarytreasurer of the centre. Half the license foe shall be reined by the issuing centre and the nt*. r half forwarded to the association secretary-treasurer.”
