UEE33 ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, November 9. During, the .past week tho minds of Auckland Electric Tramway employees have been considerably exercised over the dismissal of two conductors, and strong opinions have been expressed. It was decided to convene meetings of employees and these were held to-day. The men at first were determined not to let the , matter pass unnoticed, anu were in favour almost to a man of going out ori strike either to-morrow or on Saturday. Wiser counsels, however, prevailed, and the following resolutions were passed:—(l) That this meeting respectfully asks the company to hold further inquiries into the dismissal of the two conductors named, as the unanimous opinion of the men is that they are not guilty of the conduct which led to their dismissal; (2) that an answer be respectfully requested by Monday morning next, at 10 o’clock, failing which- the Trades and Labour Council will be asked to take the matter up. At a meeting of the City Council this evening the City Engineer recommended alterations to tho city baths, and the addition of hot water baths in connection with fliem, the destruction of the present sea baths and the erection of new baths in the western and eastern portion ,of the city. Consideration of the report was deferred.

DUNEDIN, November 8.

At the Presbyterian Synod this evening the Theological College Committee reported that the total attendance was 23, of whom three belong to other denominations. Rev. A. Cameron, in moving the adoption of the report, said there were 70 men, all with few exceptions at work in New Zealand, who had been trained at the college. The report was adopted, and the donor of scholarships thanked.
