“Tbs Besses o’ the Barn Band” are meeting with the greatest appreciation in America, and their services are so much in demand that they find it -necessary to play fourteen times a week to keep np with their engagements. The famous American entrepreneurs Messrs Schubert Brothers have engaged the Besses to play a season in the New iork Hippodrome, which seats 10,000 people. Tho band will after this engagement tour Canada, and eventually leave Vancouver early in December, and are due to open their New Zealand tour at the Christchurch Exhibition on the 9th January, and at the conclusion of their four weeks’ engagement there a comprehensive tour of the colony will be made; and eventually Australia will be visited. Messrs J. and N. Tait are directing the tour of the Besses, and they should certainly do immense business with such a. first-class organisation. Mr Charles Frohman has decided to stage Mr Barrie’s new play in London belore it is produced in New Yark. The secrets of the Barrie productions are being carefully guarded: but it is quite safe to assume that Mr Barrie has found a novel idea for a plot. One may hope that in the new production he will return to sentimental comedy. The play is being written with a view to its jroductijm in Dondon next season. ,
