A FISHERY DISPUTE.
(Received November 3, 10.2 p.m.) OTTAWA, November 3. Newfoundland’s dispute with America regarding the herring fishery in the Bay of Islands is increasing in seriousness. Tho Americans there sent a steamer to convey fifty men to vessels outside the three-mile limit. The colonial cruiser Fiona compelled tho steamer to return, and threatened to seize it as being without a clearance, which, tho Customs refuse to grant except for a genuine voyage- The Americans declare that they will appeal to Washington to send a warship.
