Sitting in civil jurisdiction yesterday, Dr McArthur, S.M., gave judgment for plaintiffs by default in the following cases :—Palmer and Co. v. James Heileson, £ll 18s and costs (£3 10s 6d); C. M. Bants, Ltd., v. S. Harley and Co., £2 and costs (10s); William Henry Millward v. David Clark. £4 6s 8d and costs (12s); Skcrrett, Wylie, and Weston v. George Greeks, £3 15s 6d and costs (ss); W. Cochrane v. Harold Smith. £1 10s. In the case P. MoArdle v. W. J. Jamieson (judgment summons) defendant was ordered to pay forthwith. T. Riddler defended the claim of P. McArdle for £7 Os lOd. Judgment was given for plaintiff for £6-0s lOd and costs (10s).
