AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
Members of tho New Zealand team for the Australasian championships who are competing at the Wellington Amateur Athletic Club’s sports meeting on Saturday afternoon leave that day by tho Wimmera. The Huddart - Parker Company has acceded to the request of the club to delay the departure of the steamer until 6 o’clock. Hector Burk, a member of the Australasian team, and S. S. Robertson. Canterbury’s best distance runner, have entered for the three-mile run, and the meeting of these two men with the local distance champion, J. H. Prendeville, will give great interest to the race. All three men are in good condition, and although Burk is handicapped to give Prendeville and Robertson a start of 40 yards, it is probable that Prendeville will go back to the scratch mark and start level with Burk.
