ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, Ist and 2nd November, trains for Palmerston leave \\ ellington at 7.50 a.m., 10.10 a.m., 4.15 p.m.; Johnsonville at 8.13 a.m., 10.33 a.m., 4.43 p.m.; Faekakariki, 0.40 a.m., 9.12 a.m., 12 noon, 6.3 p.m.; Otaki at 7.56 a.m., 9.54 a.m., I.IS p.m., 7.13 p.m.; Levin at 8.48 a.m., 10.25 a.m., 2.14 p.m., 7.53 p.m. RETURNING PROM PALMERSTON— The 3.37 p.m. Mail Train will take passengers ONLY POR Shannon, Levin. Otaki, Waikanae, Paekakariki, Porirua, Johnsonville, and Khandallah. The 5 p.m. train will take passengeTs for all stations except’- Hadfield, Pukerua, and Tawa Elat. ON FRIDAY, 3rd NOVEMBER— A Special Train will leave AVellington at 7 a.m., and arrive Palmerston at 11.10 a.m., STOPPING ONLY at Johnsonville, Paremata, Plimmerton. Paekakariki, and Levin. The 6.40 a.m. train from Paekakariki to Palmerston will run as usual, but will not stop at Hadfield or Levin. The 10.10 a.m. train from Wellington to Palmerston and the 11,40 a.m, train from Palmerston, arriving Wellington at 5.5 p.m., WILL NOT RON on this day. A Special Train will leave Palmerston at 4.45 p.m. for Wellington (arriving at 8.30 p.m.), STOPPING ONLY at Levin. Paekakariki, Plimmerton, Paremata, Porirua, and Johnsonville. The 5 p.m. train from Palmerston to Wellington will stop where required, except Levin and Hadfield. The 3.37 p.m. (mail) train from Palmerston will not stop at Levin to drop passengers. No passengers holding return excursion tickets will be allowed to travel by this train to any station. FARES— Holiday Excursion Tickets will be issued from AVellington to Palmerston •on Ist and 2nd November, and by Special and Mail Trains on 3rd November, available for return up to and including 7th December. To be floated locally (or otherwise) by the issue of Debentures at such rate of interest as the Council may 7 think fit (not exceeding .£5 per centum por annum) under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900 " and its amendments, and "The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901.” and its amendments; THE Council of the Borough of Lower Hutt hereby gives notice that such Council proposes to borrow by way of Special Loan, within the meaning of the “Local Bodies Loans Act. 1901,” and its amendments, the sum of £52,000 to be expended in the construction and provision of a drainage and sewage system for the Borough, and other sanitary, works; and in the constructiop and provision for the Borough of a water supply system- and all works and equipment in connection therewith (including the taking or acquisition of lands and other rights), and in and upon the construction, widening, or improvement of streets, payment of the purchase-money or compensation for or in respect of ; streets acquired. dedicated, or widened, and in the acquisition of land for gravel and metal pits, and of road-making machinery, and generally in and about the improvement of the’ streets of the Borough as hereinafter set forth : £ Drainage. It is not proposed to pay out of the loan the, cost of raising the loan nor the interest for the first year. The Council proposes to pledge a special rate of 3-120 d in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the Unimproved A r alue) of all rateable property in the Borough as security for the said loan of £52,000 and the interest thereon, and for a Sinking Fund should the Council think fit- to provide one. It is proposed that the whole amount of the loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of not exceeding twentyvfivo years, computed from the date of this notice.
