TASMANIAN LOCAL OPTION BILL. COMPENSATION PROVIDED FOR. (Received October 28, C. 57 p.m.) HOBART, October 28. Tho Assembly has passed the Local Option Bill. Its chief provisions are No drink to bo sold on polling day. Half tlio electors on the roll must record their votes in order to make a pell valid. A compensation fund is to bo in force five years before the first poll is taken. Tho basis of compensation to tho owner is to bo tho difference between tho assessed and capital value of a licensed bouse and an unlicensed one, and for the licensee tlio compensation to bo tho value of the goodwill of the business during tho previous year.
