SUICIDES.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. October 28. At Rangiora just boforo 8 o’clock this morning, an elderly man named Charles Bonham, a labourer, was found lying in Ashley street, apparently in a fit. Ho was taken into a house near by. and a doctor who was called in found that ho was suffering from strychnine poisoning. Ho was subsequently, attended to by two doctors. At three o’clock he was still alive, but in a critical condition. Tho man purchased tho strychnine in a local chemist’s shop about a week ago for the purpose, ho said, of poisoning rats. He in a widowep, his wife having died recently. DUNEDIN. October 28. At the inquest on tho body of William Corson, a verdict was returned of suicide by banging while temporarily insane.
