The “North Otago Times” hears, on good authority tho Government has purchased forty-acres near Kurow, with the intention of making a nursery there. The land selected is a portion of that purchased by the Kurow Jockey Club, and lies well sheltered on the east side of Kurow Hill, with a very citable aspect. It is intended to cultivate native trees largely, with the ultimate intention of planting these on tire bare hills overlooking the township. The pr ct i iur the land was a very satisfactory one to the Jockey Club, and from the Government's position the land is also likely to prove a satisfactory investment.
