MASTERTON RACING CLUB. SPRING MEETING. (By Advance/') MASTERTON, October 27. Tho Mastcrton Racing Club’s spring mooting, postponed from the previous day, opened in fine weather. Thoro was ii good attendance. Th© going was very heavy. Tho cup was v/on by the Porirua-U-ained Flamen, who ran more generous in C Jenkins’s hands than when ridden by A. Oliver at the Hutt. Flamen was bred by his owner, the Hon Mr J. Johnston, of Aorangi. Foilding, who was present to see his colours score. The Hawko’s Bay gelding Needlework was favourite for the hurdles, but could only manage to get fourtiWto the Maitinbor-ough-owned Grand Jury. Aberration, who ran a good race on the first day of the Wellington meeting, scored easily at the end of the 'Flying Hack Handicap. Grand Circle and Alcxicff, in tV. Davis s stable, at (he Hutt, carried most money in Vho Maiden Hack Race. Bath failed badly. Grand Circle finishing absolutely last. Dulcinea, bred by J. Macara, of Opaki. scored with somothing in hand. Reid, tho Carterton light-weight, rode Aberration, Silverlene and Capulet. The club worked its owji totalisator, made by Turnbull and Jones, of Christchurch* for the first time.
