Tho House resumed at 7.30. BILLS FROM THE COUNCIL. Tho amendments made by tho Legislative Council in. tho Workers’ Dwel-
lings Bill and the Maori Land Settlement Bill were agreed to. EX 111 BITfOX. The New Zealand International Exhibition Empowering Bill was committed. After several chiu-es bad been passed, progress was reported on the hill, with a view to coming to an arrangement in regard to tho clause giving power to raise the’ waters oi the; river Avon* Objection was taken lo this clause as it stood, as it opened tho way to land being flooded. EDUCATION ACT. The House agreed with, tho amendments mado by tho Legislative Council in tho Education Act Amendment Bill. PUBLIC WORKS ESTIALATES. Tho House went into Committee of Supply for consideration of the Public Works Estimates. Tho Estimates .wore passed without alteration, and tho House rose at 2.25 a.m.
