THE CITY STREETS BILL
(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.”; Sir, —The Premier, in defending the new clause, said that he had been advised that it would not prevent the re-erec-tion of houses destroyed by fire on the same sites. From tins, I gather that persons would be allowed to replace old buildings with new ones in the sanie way. If the above is correct, the hardship removed. Can you say whether it is bo?— i am, etc., * ♦ _ OXE OF THOSE AFFECTED. October 25th. (The permission to rebuild only applies in the wise of buildings destroyed by fire, and does not extend to the replacing of old buildings by new ones. — Ed. “X.Z. Times."]
