FLEMINGTON NOTES. PRESS ASSOCIATION. MELBOURNE, October 25. Maniapoto has hardened for the Melbourne Cup, and is now quoted at 8 to 1, which is also the best offer against Tartan. Scot Free, on the strength of being backed to win £3OOO, has shortened to 11 to 1. Blue Spec has advanced a point, but the others are unchanged. . , AUCKLAND. October 25. The Trotting Club's meeting was postponed till Saturday owing to wet weather. CHRISTCHURCH October 25. Mr Geo. G. Stead received a cable message from England on Tuesday asking put a price on Noctuiform. A special train for the Mastcrton races runs from Feathcrston to- Opaki and back. Passengers from Wellington -can travel either by the train leaving Wellington at 4.15 a.m.. or by the mail train, returning,by the evening train as advertised.
