IMPORTANT PEDIGREE STOCK SALE.
On Wednesday, the 25th October, what may bo termed one of tho most important sales of pedigree stock over hold in the colony will take place at Awaxmni, when Abraham and William j, Ltd., will offer on behalf of Mr S. W. Luxford. tha whole of his magnificent bexd of highclass Ayrshire cattle. This herd has been in existence for twenty years, and now takes foremost rank amongst tho leading Ayrshire herds of tho Southern Hemisphere. During the last fifteen, years Mr Luxford has disposed of over S6O head to buyers from the Australian colonies and all ports of Now Zealand and they have all expressed their great satisfaction of the constitution and milking capabilities of the cattle supplied to them. Mr Luxford has- been a consistent exhibitor at the leading A. andP. shows, and has won over 250 first prized as well as a largo number of championships, and amongst tho 140 head to be offered will be found a number of the famous prizetakors. including those two great bulla “Victor," tho winner of 22t first prizes and 18 championships and; "King Eobex-t of Auchenbrain," cither of: which is fit to be placed at the bead of any Ayrshire herd. Borne of the cows catalogued have never suffered defeat in tho show ring and amongst tho yearling heifers some future champions will be found. It is regrettable that circurastan..oes have arisen to necessitate the dispersal of such a herd, which has been got together regardless of cost, and it is an opportunity that should not be missed by buyers. It is to be hoped that some of the best of the lots of this favourite breed will be retained in,tho district.
