DUTY ON HARVESTERS.
LONDON, August 15. Tire Ottawa correspondent of the “ Daily Chronicle,” referring to Sir W. Ly no’s action in raising the duty on harvesters imported into tho Commonwealth, says:—lf is stated in Ottawa that the Customs Department possesses confidential information on similar subjects which is not divulged even to members of the Dominion Parliament, though Canada maintains special officers i i the United States to ascertain American domestic values. It is considered the Commonwealth should act similarly.
