SETTLEMENT OE FRENCH CLAIMS. ARBITRATORS’ AWARD. (Received August 14. 10.21 p.m.) LONDON, August 14. The award is announced of the Arbitration Court established by virtue of the Anglo-French Convention to assess the amount of indemnity to be paid by the British Government to French citizens’ for abandoning their establishments and giving up their fishing occupation on tho “treaty shore” of Newfoundland.

Tho claimants are awarded £55.000 compensation. The arbitrators consisting of an officer of each nation—in their judgment are in agreement on all points.
