ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE. Mr Rickards has not had much to thank the clerk of the weather for during his season here, and it seems especially hard that now just as the company is about to take its departure, the rainy and windy days and nights experienced for so long should leave with them. However, the public have recognised the merits of the artists comprising the troupe, and have turned up in goodly numbers to witness their clever performances. To-night, the season will be brought to a close. A specially attractive programme will be submitted. THEATRE ROYAL. The interesting, amusing, and mystifying turns of which the programme gone through by Mr Dix's company last evening so largely consists, drew a numerous audience to the Theatre .Royal. The bewildering torpsichoreah feats of the Bicknells, the marvellous sleight-of-hand of Dante, the droll songs of Tod Callaway, and the bright contributions of Eileen Boyd, The Mahers, The Mascottes, G. Warsaw, Harrie Alexander, and the l ost, found admirers in every part of the house. The applause was frequent and hearty. To-morrow evening the "Gaiety Six," Frank Hawthorne, and Carden Wilson, the new additions to the company, will make their first appearance. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. The new programme presented by Fuller's Entertainers last evening was responsible for attracting a large audience to His Majesty's Theatre. The recent additions to the company proved themselves worthy of the complimentary descriptions of their work in other places which have preceded them. Miss Flo. Neston, in her pretty little serio-comic I song, "My Little Love Bird." acquitted herself admirably, and Miss May Connolly, the new contralto of the company, was loudly applauded for her rendering of "'Mid the Flowers." The "Kick-a-poo Dance," a wild fantastic "two-step," which, no doubt, will rise in popularity as has the "cake-walk" was introduced by Mr Alf. Fielding, who showed conclusively that in what used to be known as "leg-mania" he is a past master. The 1 loading feature of the new part of the programme was the heavy-weight lifting of "Milo," a young man who weighs but nine stone .and who, as the result of the Sandow system of physical training elevates and, indeed, juggles with weights and tension strains which would otherwise have been far beyond bis muscular capabilities. It was in all respects a remarkable and interesting exemplification of the possibilities of physical development, The old favourites, the Diamond Duo, again delighted the audience with their clever songs and dances, and the remainder of the company were as entertaining as ever. . To-morrow evening, the new arrivals. Miss Pearl Ackerman. Miss Celestin© Delwyn. Miss Annie Tye, and Mr Pete Miller will make their first appearance at His Majesty's.

The Wellington Choral Society requests full attendances at practices to be held in St. John's schoolroom to-night—the chorus at 7.30 and the orchestra at 8. , The popularity of roller skating was again manifest yesterday by the satisfactory attendances at the Kink, Ingestro street.
