PHESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN. May 25. The Premier leaves in the morning for a tour of Central Otago. He speaks tomorrow night at Naseby, on Saturday at Ophir, on Monday at Roxburgh, on Tuesday at Lawrence, and on Wednesday at Kaitaugata. The tour is likely to b© a cold one. The ic© at Roughridgo is now thick enough for curling, and the Premier visits the pond on Saturday. The Rev Father Hays addressed a large and enthusiastic meeting in the Garrison Hall to-night. __ CHRISTCHURCH, May 25. Mr Civ Lewis. M.H.R. far Courtenay, addressed a meeting of his constituents at Hornby to-night. Ho dealt with the financial methods of the Government-, and expressed disapproval of manipulating the Consolidated and Public Works Funds. Ho blamed the Premier for the position that arose at Newtown and Bruce. He protested against the Premier assuming power to suspend the operation of the Shops and Offices Act. and in finding out loopholes for thos© dissatisfied. PEILDING. May 25. At the Police Court to-day, William Beat was charged with making a false declaration, in order to obtain a marriage license. Accused had not resided in the district thro© days, hut at a neighbouring township in an adjoining district. He wag remanded to the Supreme Court at Palmerston North. Bail was /ollowed.
