TTTfit VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. Colonel Qihnour has made a. flying risit to ‘Wellington to consult with Major .-\lbiston, officer commanding the Wellington district, as to the arrangements for the approaching visit to New .Zealand of General Booth, the Com-mandant-in-Chief of the Salvation Army, now in. Australia-, who is renewing his acquaintance with the colonies. The General is a remarkable personage. His energy seems rather to increase than decline with advancing years, and during the past few years ho has made great efforts to relieve the oppressed of darkest England, and bring some ray of hope to the squalid millions of the big centres of the Old World. The following itinerary has been arranged for the General for the three weeks ho will spend in this colony:— Monday, April 17th. —Arrive Invercargill. Tuesday, April 18th—Lecture at Zealandia Hall, Invercargill. Wednesday, April 19fch—Reception at Dunedin Railway Station at 7.5 p.m. Thursday, April 20tli—Lecture at Garrison Hall (chairman, Mayor of Dunedin). Friday, April 21st—Three meetings at Garrison Hall. Saturday, April 22nd— Reception at Christchurch Railway Station at 5.8 p-m. (Mayor of Christchurch presides). Sunday, April 23rd—Three meetings at Canterbury Hall (lecture in afternoon, at which the Mayor of Christchurch will preside). Monday, April 21th—Three meetings at Barracks. Tuesday, April 25th—Three sessions for officers at the Sydenham Barracks. Thursday, April 27th—t<eavo*' for Wellington. Friday, April SBth—Lecture at Wesley Church, Taranaki street (chairman, Right Hon E. if. Seddon). Saturday, April 29th— Soldiers and ex-soldiers’ meeting at Barracks. Sunday, April 30th—Three meetings at Opera House (lecture in afternoon, his Excellency the Governor in the chair). Monday, May Ist—Throe meetings at Barracks. Tuesday, May 2nd—Three officers’ sessions at Baptist schoolroom. Wednesday, May 3rd— Two officers’ sessions at the Baptist schoolroom. Thursday, May 4th—Leave For Auckland. Friday, May sth—Lecture at Baptist Tabernacle (chairman, Hon E. 'Mitchelson). Saturday, May 6th Soldiers and ■ ©x-soldiers, at Temple. Sunday, May 7th—Three meetings at Opera House. Monday, May Bth—Sail for Sydney.
