(From Our Own Correspondent) Thursday. Mr J. C. Lane, the secretary of the A. and P. Association and an agricultural experimentalist of much experience, has an interesting collection of fancy potato seed arriving from the Old Country. j(r Lane expects a valuable crop as the result of his experiment. Henry Thompson Lears, tailor, of Feilding, to-day filed a petition that he be adjudged bankrupt. The work of reparring the Manawatu Gorge road has now been commenced. His Excellency the Governor Lord Plunket was an interested spectator of the races yesterday. He returned to "Highden,” Awahuri, the home of the Hon W. Johnston, where He was entertained last evening. His Excellency revisited the course i»-day. This morning a recent arrival from Napier, named Brown, was found in the new Opera House in an unconscious state, his collarbone being fractured. It is thought he lay in the house all night. Yesterday ho had applied for employment on the building, and had been told to commence this morning. He is progressing favourably. The Dairy Union paid Bjd per lb for March butter fat
