The New Zealand and African Steamship Company’s steamer Suffolk, from Liverpool, is to sail at noon to-day with remainder of cargo for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The Corinna., due on Tuesday from New Plymouth will bring 13,000 boxes of blitter for transhipment to the Gothic for London. The Haupiri, from AVellington, Picton and Nelson arrived at AVestport at 5 a.m. yesterday, and sailed for Greymouth at 8 a.m. The Tyser steamer Niwaru is.due in the AVanganui roadstead about Thursday next from Gisborne, and after loading Wanganui cargo, will sail for Wellington. She will complete loading here and sail for London about the 10th. The Union Company's steamer Herald from Auckland via East Coast bays, is not expected to arrive at AVellington until next Friday. The engineer of the Lyttelton Harbour Board has reported that the work on the Lyttelton coal hulks wharf had been at a standstill' since last report, owing to non-delivery of timber by the contractors, and some few pieces would Still be required before it could be completed. The low-level breastwork was proceeding satisfactorily. All the bearing piles were in place, and the caps, floor-beams, and horizontal bracing were being kept well up to the pile work. The Tyser steamer Tomoana, from Loudon, is to sail from AVellington at 6 o'clock to-morrow morning with balance of cargo for Napier. * The Shaw, Saviil and Albion Company has decided that the steamer Karamea, which is to sail from AVellington on January 28th for Rio de Janeiro, Plymouth and London will take first saloon and third-class passengers. The vessel, now in the south, will proceed to Auckland where she will dock on January sth. She will call afterwards at Gisborne, Napier, Port Chalmers, and AVellington. Cable advice was received yesterday by the local agents for the Shaw. SaviU and Albion Company that the steamer ionic, from London. Plymouth, and Capetown, arrived at Hobart early yesterday morning. The lonic is expected to arrive at Wellington on next AVednesday morning. WAIKARE, FOB SYDNEY. The Union Steam Ship Company’s steamer Waikaro, from Melbourne and Hobart, via South, is duo from Lyttelton at about half-past 6 o’clock this morning. The vessel will berth at No. 14, Queen’s AVharf, and will discharge about 600 tons of cargo. The Waikaro will sail for Sydney at 5 o’clock this afternoon, and not 3 o’clock as previously advertised.
