At a meeting of the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society held to-day a resolution was passed:—"That in the opinion of this society it is not desirable that the Stud Bill in its pre* sent form should he passed.": HOKITIKA, September 2. The annual meeting of the shareholders; in the Kokatahi Dairy Factory adopted, a resolution for the payment of a dividend of sixpence per share and a bonus of three farthings per lb on the quantity of butter-fat supplied. This will amount to about JI3OO. .The surplus on th« year’s transactions is £ 394. There is evrfry indication that the milk supply fof the coming season will bo increased 33 per cent. TBIABU, September 2. A ballot for two Icasc-m-perpetuity farms was hold here to-day. For 231 acres, a surrendered lot, in the Rosewill set. tleinent, there wore twenty-one applicants, and for a forfeited farm of the same area at the Bcoleston. settlement there were forty names in the ballot. Ten applications were rejected.
