A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that a meeting of tho congregation of the Devonport Presbyterian Church unanimously agreed that Rev I. K. 'Bertram, of Hawera, be appointed to the pastorate of tho church,, in succession to tho Bcv It. Ferguson, recently appointed to Invercargill. Tho appointments arc gazetted of Mr Horace Clare Waterficld as private secretary to his Excellency the Governor; Captain Francis Powell Braithwaite. ot the Northumberland' Fusiliers, as aide-de-camp ; and Lieutenant tho Hon Arthur Maurice Robert Bingham, of the Fifth Lancers, as second aide-de-camp.
