During the past twenty years .Tows have acquired 51,540 acres of land in Palestine. On this land have been os* tablished 21 villages and 13 plantations. Barges are towed on the Kibe by means of a chain 200 miles long, which It s at the bottom of the .river, and is grappled and raised by steam machinery. Under the care of an expert forester, the oak tree planted at ISewstcad Abbey nearly a hundred years ago by Lord Byron ics showing signs of returning vigear.
