“Oassoll’s” is full of interesting reading. The, paper on Corporation Curiosities claims separate mention. John Vandercook describes the Fifth Avenue, New York, and mentions, among other singular facts, that vacant .lots appear along tho Avenuo which arc occupied by squatters, .mostly Irish, who keep a pig and a goat, “and reproduce the life of the Kerry hogs on tho richest thoroughfare in America.” It is also mentioned: that tho Rockefellers have never been received in New York society, and they entertain very litt]o. . They are plain people of quiet tastes, and And .their chief interests in Standard oil and the Baptist Church. Many whimsical stories aro told concerning tho Stock Exchange at play.

Tiir* December number of tho '‘Scottish Field” maintains tlio high standard of that journal. The illustrations aro clear and faithful, while tho articles on sport in all its branches are wholly interesting. A series of articles on “Scottish Homes" is being published monthly, that dealt with in the current number being “Hoddam Castle,” a Scottish “keep” founded sometime in tho fifteenth century at Annandale, Dumfriesshire.
