FARMERS’ DAIRY UNION.

' (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent). EKETAHIINA, July <t. At a meeting of settlors at ilongokokako on Thursday evening, called for the purpose of discussing the advisability of erecting a cheese factory, Mr Thos. Parsons, managing director of the New Zealand Fanners’ Dairy Union, said it had been said ho was drawing J 3300 a year in the capacity ho held. The statement was absolutely incorrect. The total amount drawn by the whole of the directors last year was .€lls. Ho hal directly lost money through being at the head of tin. union, though of course, his property had enhanced in value through the development of the industry. l]e had fully made up his mind to tender his resignation as a director. There would thus be three vacancies to fill at the annual meeting of shareholders. Mr Parsons stated, however, that ho intended standing tor re-election. If elected he said, “he would require adequate payment for his services,” and he intended to move that the directors receive an honorarium. If this was not carried ho would retire. At present all he received was a paltry J2l per day when ho wont to Wellington. Sir Parsons concluded by stating that if settlers took bis advice they would stick to the union.
