THE DAWNING.

Afar there shines the dawning Of a bright and glorious day. Each soul shall hail that morning And sorrow flee away. Tho trials that now surround us Shall cease and be no more; In brotherhood abounding, Our hearts will upward soar. In unity of gladness We'll hail each brother man. No heart will grieve in saduesy. For all shall joyous stand. Within the Light, that chining, Sh-a.il welcome from afar. The broken heart repining, And those that wearied are. E'en Death itself shall vanish. Lost in that glorious Light, And life immortal banish All anguish from our right. Then, weary heart, look upward, And trying to do right. Find, in thy striving onward. Thy burden shall be light. * —M. A, Johnson. Wellington, June 10, 1003.
