DISTRIBUTION OP DIPLOMAS. PBESS ASSOCIATION. ‘ DUNEDIN, July S. The distribution of diplomas to successful students of Otago University took plnce this afternoon. There was a large attendance. ' The Rev J. C. Andrew, vice-chancellor of the New Zealand University. presided, and in opening grave some "brief reference® to his connection with Otago in the early days. The Registrar's list showed the following diplomas for last year: —Doctor of Medicine, ore; M.A., eight; honours in arts, eight; honours in science, one; Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, ten; 8.A., seven; B.Sc., five; B.So. in mining and engineering, one; Bachelor of Laws, one. Professor Gilroy was-the chief speaker. Regret was gonjuadly expressed at the absence of-thcrUna*nceUor. The students held their usual capping carnival in the evening. ’
