BIGAMY MADE EASY.
FINDING OF THE NEW SOUTH WALES FULL COURT.
(Received Maty 29, 10.2 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 29. With reference to tbe charge ot bigamy against a man named Hilaire, tbo Full Court has decided,that it has no jurisdiction to deal with bigamy where tho second marriage has taken, place outside tbo State of New South Wales, and therefore tho Court below bad no jurisdiction. Tho conviction was accordingly quashed., 1 [lu this case Hilairo was convicted of bigamy committed at Auckland. Now Zealand, in March, 1898. He was remanded for sentence pending tho decision of the Full Court, given above, mi the question of jurisdiction. Legal quibbling at the trial wont so far that , >■ the point was noted that there was no evidence to show that New Zealand was , a British possession, or that bigamy in i this colony was a crime.] ,
