THE RWANGSI REBELLION. LONDON, April 27. Tho Cantonese residents of Shanghai have protested to tho Governor aga.nsi General Wang’s intention to accept French assistance in suppressing the I-Iwansi rebellion, contending: tint such assistance would tend to the partition of Ciiina. Tho arbitrators’ award in the Tientsin siding dispute, which arose in 1930 through the Russians seizing Air Kinder's railway siding, upholds the British claims, but admits that the Russian contentions in favour of seizure were well founded. ■ RUSSIA’S MANCHURIAN DEMANDS LONDON, April 27. Tho Now .York correspondent of “Tb > Times” says that public indignation against Russia’s proceedings with regard to Manchuria is hourly rising. Tho newspapers aro mostly condemnatory of the attitude taken up by Russia.
Air Conger, American Minister m China, lias protested to Prince Ching against tho Russian proposals that no moro towns in Manchuria should be opened to foreigners, and that only Russiams should ho employed in China’s foreign service.
